I began playing D&D in 1977. There were less than a dozen products for it then, and nobody had ever heard of it. I had a great time over the years playing D&D and other role-playing games, especially when my children reached the age to play. Unfortunately, in their crass attempt to milk as much as they can from their cash cow Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast has created the newest edition of the game-- The fourth edition. This version seemes designed primarily to seperate their customers' money from their customers' wallets, and secondarily to create a proprietary look and feel for their property. For me the best part of the game was to create your own world in which to play. This new version all but makes that impossible.
