Work in Progress - His Robot Wife

HERE IT IS!  THE FIRST PEEK AND THE COVER FOR THE LONG AWAITED SEQUEL TO HIS ROBOT GIRLFRIEND.

As I write this, I am just finishing chapter 2 of 10 planned.  I think I have a good outline and I'm enjoying writing Mike and Patience again.  My real challenge and desire is to make this book an answer for those who liked His Robot Girlfreind, but wanted more, or thought the ending left them hanging a bit too much.  I'm also adding quite a bit of explication for those who don't believe my monetary system of the book was well thought out..  In any case I plan to have the first draft done by early November if all goes well.  My plan right now is that this will not be a free book-- it will be either .99 or 1.99.  Let me know if you have an opinion on this or on the cover.  FYI, it is the same cover model that was featured on the first book.

exciting news!
i think you should definitely charge for the sequel, and your prices are incredibly reasonable already.

the cover looks great. nice choice.
my only thought with cover art is that a full face could detract from your written descriptions. it adds a tangibility that could be weird to people who imagine daffodils differently.

keep up the great work

Welk I just hope this one is longer than the last as I loved the first one. My only request is to put it on the iBooks store ASAP. I think one dollar is a ok idea but two is a little much for books so short. But hey far be it from me to cplain if it ends up being free

Great book screaming for a sequel. You deserve to charge for the book. Make it longer and charge $3. I'll pay!

I came across your book on a whim on my Samsung Galaxy S phone using the Aldiko eBook reader. I am a big Asimov fan. Funny enough, I haven't read a sci-fi book in a long time and your book was such a joy to read - I could not put it down. Thank you for making it free! I will definitely purchase your sequel. I really look forward to it.

btw - I am a genomics scientist. If you are thinking about other realistic future technologies to mention, you should consider that in the near future everyone have their complete genomes sequenced ;-)

And I'm not exagerating - we are doing it right now and the cost will come down to $300 in the next 5 years! Imagine in 10 years!

Thanks so much for your feedback.

The best I can do is echo the sentiments of everyone else. Yes, you deserve to charge an unreasonable fee (for you!) for this sequel.

And I agree that the cover model is good, but not the best. The lighting does a good job of making her look nearly synthetic, but she doesn't like someone that would naturally have black hair. Regardless, I don't usually buy into "keep it vague and let the reader imagine" concept, I don't mind being shown when the author thinks she looks like. So that was a good move, IMO.

Wesley I loved the first book, I'm not a reader and couldn't put it down. I just finished it for the second time and am really excited for the sequel. I'll pay whatever you charge so don't worry about the price it'll be well worth it.
I love reading anything to do with robots and I have to say this is one of the best scifi books I've ever read, well done.

I have read "his robot girlfriend" and I loved it the first time I read it off of iBooks! Part of the reason that I read it was because it happened to be free :) and even thought I would gladly pay for other books in the sequel it would also be very convenient for it to come free in the iBooks store because as i am underage I have no job and my parents sometimes don't understand my interests in books :/ i hope u take this into consideration :)

Hi. I read His Robot Girlfriend last year and had been dying for a sequel ever since. I noticed His Robot Wife was available a few days ago. I just read it and can't wait for the next one. Any idea when that will be? Both books were great and I know the next one will be equally so.
